Generally, it takes 7 interactions or impressions for someone to take action and get involved. "In Your Nature" can be one of those crucial interactions. As an organisation, we aim to make it easier for you to:

• Connect with passionate volunteers aligned with your mission
• Expand outreach to individuals who might not have known about your initiatives otherwise. Often, word-of-mouth outreach limits visibility to those not already connected.
• Increase event engagement by promoting your social media pages through "In Your Nature".

Criteria for Eligibility

Unfortunately, we can’t cover everything just yet, so here are some criteria that your organisation must meet in order to be listed on “In Your Nature”.

1. Alignment with Environmental Goals: Your initiative should primarily focus on activities related to:
   • Conservation efforts
   • Promoting sustainability
   • Establishing green spaces
   • Providing environmental/nature education
   • Encouraging community engagement with nature
   • Empowering people, groups, or organisations within environmentalism
2. Organisational Structure: You are either:
   • A non-profit organisation, charity, or community initiative
   OR
   • A social enterprise that offers activities/events at no- or low-cost, or provides community services like education, advocacy, or outreach.

Intake Process

We know that your time is valuable. That's why we want to make this as easy as possible for you to join.

1. Signup and Questionnaire: Fill out the short intake form and questionnaire, taking no more than 30 minutes. Provide:
   • Name, description, website link, and/or email address
   • Links to social media platforms
   • Volunteer opportunities descriptions
   • Fill the matching quiz. Learn more about the quiz here
2. Approval: We'll evaluate your alignment with our criteria.
3. Listing: Upon approval, your organisation will be visible in our database for browsing and matching.

Benefits of being on In Your Nature

Receive insights on the click-through rate from In Your Nature to your organisation. Share success stories of people who connected through our platform. Gain exposure to eager, like-minded community members.

Costs

We know what you’re thinking: How can they upkeep this site, free of charge? Isn’t web hosting, server maintenance, and database management expensive?

Yes, it can be! At the moment, we are funded in part by the Canadian Wildlife Federation and the Invasive Species Council of British Columbia through the Canada Service Corps.

For now, this means “In Your Nature” is cost-free for organisations and users. However, as funding sources may change and site maintenance is ongoing, we might introduce a nominal fee or request donations for listing in the future. Rest assured, we'll provide ample notice for any such changes.
